Lakers owner Jerry Buss is reportedly on his deathbed and is surrounded by family and friends for what being described as his final days in a fight with Cancer.
RadarOnline reports that Buss is in a Los Angeles area Hospital.
The businessman and billionaire is at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com that Lakers players have been calling with well-wishes and even stopping by to see him in what they expect to be his final days.
“Jerry isn’t doing well and it’s quite sad, but he’s surrounded by loved ones,” the insider told RadarOnline.com.
“The cancer is just too much and it looks like this is the end for him.”
Buss bought the team in 1979 and has enjoyed quite the success, with the team claiming ten NBA Championships under his watch.
The 79 year-old owner has had a recent history of health problems, causing him to miss every game this season due to failing health after an undisclosed surgery in August of 2012.
The team takes the court tonight in a Valentines night match-up against the Los Angeles Clippers, where we imagine the team will be playing with heavy hearts.
We wish the best for Mr. Buss in his courageous battle.
