After Sunday’s loss to the undefeated Atlanta Falcons, Michael Vick let us in on a little secret. He said that Andy Reid was thinking of a change at the quarterback position due to the play of Vick thusfar this year.
“Obviously, he’s thinking about making a change at the quarterback position,” Vick said. “The thing I do know is that I’m giving us every opportunity to win. I’m trying my hardest. Some things don’t go right when I want them to. Some things do. So if that’s the decision that (Reid) wants to make, then I support it.”
According to Howard Eskin of FOX 29 in Philadelphia, the time is now.
Eskin reports that the Eagles are ready to go in a new direction with Rookie third-round pick Nick Foles who many Eagles fans were clamoring over in the preseason when he impressed many.
The report has not yet been validated from the team, but with Andy Reid’s coaching job on the line, it’s something he’s been thinking about, and apparently not only this year. Complex reports that Reid was hoping that having to play Vince Young last season when Vick was hurt would lead to great play by Young to make the change of QB then necessary.
Young didn’t pan out for the Eagles though so the plan didn’t work, and they continue on their downfall since Vince uttered the words Dream Team.
Well, Vick called them a dynasty, so what’s worse?
