It seems that there just can’t be a story involving the British Royal Family these days without nudity somehow being involved.

Kate Middleton is furious about the release of topless photos of her taken when she vacationed at a chateau in France with Prince William. The French magazine Closer published the photos and the Royal Family is now fighting mad, issuing the following statement:

“Their royal highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner.”

The statement continued, saying that the invasion of privacy was
“reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales.”

This is in reference, of course, to the tragic car crash that killed Princess Diana, Prince Harry’s mother, after a car chase to escape paparazzi in 1997.

The newlyweds were trying to enjoy a personal, private moment, quite different from the antics that led to the pictures of Prince Harry’s bits and bobs earlier this month. The photos of Middleton cannot be unpublished, but hopefully the scathing statement issued by the royals will serve as a reminder that there should be some boundaries.
