As the season gets underway, the Dallas Cowboys want to make sure that they get their franchise Quarterback locked up contractually to make sure he sticks around.
As a guy that entered the league as an undrafted free agent, Tony Romo has come a long way in his career. Along the way there has been ups and downs as in every career, but the Cowboys feel good enough going forward to get him a contract extension for the long run.
It was said a few weeks ago that neither side was ready to negotiate and wanted to focus on the season, but as things get rolling the team has approached the idea and would like to move forward.
Romo had his best year as a pro last year throwing for 4,184 yards and 31 touchdowns with a passer rating of 102.5.
