Nicki Minaj performed in New York at the Roseland Ballroom for about 3,000 fans on Tuesday night, as part of a free concert for Pepsi. The stage was on fire with Lil Wayne and label mate Drake. But, what was most surprising was a special guest, that Minaj introduced as “the female rapper who influenced her the most”. The guest rapper was Foxy Brown who performed three songs from her last album 2001’s Broken Silence.
On stage Minaj said, “There aren’t any other female rappers who have opened doors for me than you, and Lauryn (Hill).”
“Broken Silence changed my life,” Minaj said. “I always loved Foxy. When she put out Broken Silence, I knew she was an innovator.”
The beef between Lil Kim and Minaj has started to die down a bit. But in May, Lil Kim said that Minaj bit her style and didn’t pay her respect. Well, Minaj is paying respect to Foxy Brown whose career has faded since Brown spent sometime in jail. Below is the video of how it went down.
