Running back Adrian Peterson is finally back to practice with the Minnesota Vikings after being sidelined for 9 months from  surgery on his left knee. It’s been a long wait and Peterson’s team is not playing around with their star’s health. A clear and simple message was sent to defensive players on the squad in an attempt to ensure that Peterson stays safe during practice: Touch him and you’re off the team. Got that?

Safety Jamarca Sanford discussed the message he received from his coaches:

“The rules are simple. Do not touch 28 [Peterson]. If you touch him, you’re cut.”

Peterson was thrilled to be back in pads after a long hiatus and wanted to get in a few more snaps on Tuesday but himself got a clear message from his coaches: No.
