In a conversation with Oprah Winfrey to be aired later this month, Rihanna opens up about some difficult subjects, including her assault at the hands of then boyfriend Chris Brown. “It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. I lost my best friend,” said the singer, getting visibly emotional.
Ri-Ri also opened up about her fears about the pedestal that comes along with fame, as well as the rebelliousness she felt after the media scrutiny that followed her tumultuous relationship with Brown. “I was resentful. I held a grudge. I was dark.”
The interview will air on Oprah’s Next Chapter on Sunday August 19 at 9 pm EST. Here is a snippet.
