that American Idol has reached out to Sean “Diddy” combs to see if he is interested in a judging spot for American Idol’s new season.
Being a judge for Fox pays well, but can they afford Diddy? They have already paid $17 million to Mariah, not to mention $15 million for Britney Spears on X Factor. Plus, Diddy is traveling constantly. Would he be able to commit to taping a weekly show? He travels a lot. This week, he is hosting a private party in Ibiza, Spain. There’s been no comment by Fox or Diddy’s rep.
Idol has put out feelers to about 20 potential judges to come up with the right judging panel. Idol is looking for chemistry between the judges. Some of the celebrities that Idol has reached out to are Adam Lambert, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Brad Paisley, Pink, and Nick Jonas. No word on whether original Idol cast member Randy Jackson will return for the new season as a judge or mentor.
