Louis Vuitton is combining the worlds of fashion, sport, poetry and art in its new advertising campaign. In a series of short films featuring Yasiin Bey, better known to most as the rapper Mos Def, reads the poetry of the Great Ali in a backdrop of bold imagery. At the end of the film, Bey is seen shadowboxing and the camera later pulls back to show a painting in the boxing ring featuring the word “Dream,” the name of the short.
The campaign is the brainchild of advertising heavyweight Ogilvy & Mather and was directed by Stuart McIntyre, the next short in the campaign, “Word,” will be released in September.
