Drew Rosenhaus had a made for TV image. His appearance on TV pleading to the masses as to why his client athlete deserves millions is always a show to watch. If you have ever watched him pitch a potential athlete, you come to realize this man may be able to sell water to a well. The CBS 60 Minute piece on him further cemented the perception of Rosenhaus. A relentless super agent always on the go and always about the deal.

However, as we found out this past weekend, there is more to Rosenhaus than the “show me the money” perception.  This past Saturday marked the inaugural Rosenhaus Sports Representation’s (RSR) Youth Fitness Clinic. What we saw was another side of Drew you will never see. The goal of the camp is to instill the importance of physical activity and health consciousness to the youth of South Florida. The kind of stuff you would think Rosenhaus has absolutely no interest in. But sure enough there he was, like a proud coach, instructing and encouraging kids and actively participating in all the exercise drills.

C words like calculating and cunning have been used to describe Drew and maybe that’s what you need to be in this $9 billion NFL business. However, what we saw was a man that truly cares and has compassion. To further inspire these kids, Rosenhaus brought out a plethora of NFL stars, highlighted by Plaxico Burress.

It is hard to believe this side of Rosenhaus exists and we are sure Uncle Luke might be shocked to see this also. Early this year, Uncle Luke of 2 Live Crew Fame demanded Rosenhaus give back to the black community. With Rosenhaus getting approximately 3 percent of the billion plus worth of contacts he has negotiated, one would think Uncle Luke would be encouraging Rosenhaus’s client athletes to give back and not the agent. Yet, in this hot Miami weather, Drew is not on his yacht reflecting on another stellar offseason of mega deals for DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy, Rob Gronkowski and many more. We find him on this field showing kids how to run a cone drill and speaking on the importance of staying in school and staying out of trouble.

With over 150 clients, Rosenhaus will continue to make news and entertain us for years as he endlessly pursues big time NFL contracts. Thus, it is refreshing to see there is a lot more substance to Drew than appears on TV.
