After his second arrest in a month, the Detroit Lions determined that they had enough of corner Aaron Berry’s legal troubles and released him from the team on Monday. The move by Detroit will likely send a message to some of the other players on the squad who have also found themselves on the wrong side of the law this offseason.
Berry was arrested on three counts of simple assault, reportedly pointing a firearm at three people over the weekend. In June he was arrested for DUI in his hometown of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
After an offseason that has seen seven arrests of its players, perhaps the Lions would like to consider reviewing Chad Ochocino Johnson’s guide to NFL players staying out of trouble.
