Mac Miller is being sued by hip hop artist/producer, Lord Finesse for the instrumental Miller used for “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza”.
Often rappers sample classic records and instrumentals for their free mixtape releases, but it seems Finesse is not seeing it this way and wants cash for his 1995 “Hip 2 Da Game” instrumental. Finesse stated in a tweet, “The case is about the overall picture..If you’re just looking at “one” point..it’s about so much more. #look deeper…”
Well, Mac Miller may have to look deep into his pockets if Lord Finesse has a legit case on his hands, because Finesse wants $10 million! By that amount, it seems Finesse forgot that Miller’s mixtape was sold for the low price of $0! Sources state that this lawsuit came shortly after DatPiff, Miller, and his label, didn’t respond to a cease and desist letter earlier this month. The suit is supposedly for copyright infringement. Hopefully, Miller and Finesse can work this out in a calmer, less expensive way.
