Last night in the Padres game at Chase Field against the Diamondbacks, San Diego center fielder Cameron Maybin stepped in against Arizona starter Trevor Cahill and hit a homer that traveled an estimated at 485 feet, which is the longest homer hit in the league this season. The ball traveled to the second level of a picnic deck at Chase, well beyond the seats in left center field. The previous high was a 484 foot bomb hit by Nelson Cruz of the Rangers in a game in Anaheim against the Angels.
