Last season 49ers LB Aldon Smith made a name for himself in his rookie season when he recorded a franchise-rookie record 14 sacks, most among NFL rookies, and forced two fumbles while he was at it.

This offseason though, hasn’t been the best for the young stud headed into his second season as a pro. Earlier in the offseason Smith was arrested for Driving under the Influence in Miami. Now, there are reports the Smith was stabbed at a house party where two others were shot. The Sacramento Bee reported that the event took place early Saturday morning.

Team officials confirmed that Smith suffered “minor” injuries in an “incident” that happened over the weekend, but wouldn’t confirm nor deny that he was stabbed. 49ers GM Trent Baalke said “We are in contact with Aldon, and thankful that his injuries were not more serious and that he is recovering comfortably. The 49ers are also in communication with local authorities as they gather information regarding the incident, and will reserve further comment at this time.”

CSN Bay Area reported that Smith was stabbed in the abdomen and shoulder several times with a small pocket knife while trying to break up a fight at the party. He tweeted “Thanks everyone for you support and concerns” to fans yesterday. He was treated and released from a Bay Area Hopsital, and is recovering well.
