Georgia Running Back Isaiah Crowell was arrested this morning on Multiple Felony and Misdemeanor charges of possession of a weapon on school grounds, altered ID and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit.

According to the police report, four other Georgia football players were also in Crowell’s vehicle, including three 2012 freshman signees. Those playerss were outside linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons, wide receiver Blake Tibbs and defensive back Sheldon Dawson. Also present was sophomore defensive back Quintavius Harrow. None of the four were charged.

After learning of the arrest, Head Coach of the Bulldogs Mike Richt dismissed Crowell from the team. Richt told reporters “We have a dedicated and committed group of men who are working hard to prepare for the coming season and our total focus will be directed toward the team and this effort”. after the announcement was made.

Crowell was looking to enter the season as the leading rusher for the team, coming off of 185 carries for 850 yards last season.

The Bulldogs have plenty depth at the position having brought in two top 50 running backs in Todd Gurley and Keith Marshall.
