A couple of months ago, Mary J. Blige had been featured in a Burger King ad for BK’s new Chicken Snack Wraps. Unfortunately, the commercial did not go as planned and Blige received an abundance of criticism for the controversial commercial as soon as it aired. Mary J., extremely hurt by the ad and the public response to it, had decided to keep quiet about the ad until recently, when she spoke to Angie Martinez during a radio appearance. Blige expressed how deeply hurt she was because of how she was portrayed in the commercial and stated Take a listen to the commercial that sparked so much controversy and Blige’s response to it.

Burger King did admit that the ad was released before it was supposed to be. Licensing and final approvals were still not set in stone. BK also made a public apology to the R&B songstress:”We would like to apologize to Mary J. and all of her fans for airing an ad that was not final.” It’s said that a final version of the commercial will be released, but with how upset Ms. Blige was…we’re not so sure.
