Early this past Sunday, the fifth overall pick in April’s NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars and Ex-Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested on a complaint of aggravated DUI in Stillwater, OK.
It has been reported by local newspaper The Tulsa World that Blackmon was booked into Payne County Jail at 10 am, but no further details have yet to be released.
According to the newspaper, if a person’s blood-alcohol is a .15 or higher, he or she can be pinched for aggravated DUI per Oklahoma law.
During Blackmon time at at Okie State, he became a prolific receiver, a two-time All-American and twice named the winner of the Biletnikoff Award. He ranked second behind Rashaun Woods in receiving yards, receptions and touchdown catches on the Cowboys’ all-time list.
This isn’t the first time Blackmon has been arrested on a DUI. Back in Texas in October of 2010, he was taken in while he was coming back from watching a Dallas Cowboys game. Following the 2010 incident, during a news conference in Stillwater, Blackmon said “I’m embarrassed to be in this position. … I look forward to redeeming myself and proving to everybody that this isn’t who I am. I’m not this guy. I’m humbled by this experience and I will grow from it.”
